Summer School Venue

Venue

The summer school will be convened at the main campus of the University of Western Australia, Perth, Australia. Lectures and tutorials will be conducted at university theatres and computing laboratories. Participants will be ccommodated at on-campus colleges and near campus accomodation. The UWA campus is situated on the Swan River, south west of the Perth city and east of Perth's beaches as shown in the Google images below. Close by to campus you will see King's Park which is a large park of native plants that is elevated above the city providing excellent views of the city and Swan River.

Flying to Perth: Perth airport is an international airport with direct flights to Tokyo, Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Dubai, Auckland and Johannesburg as well as all major Australian airports from which you can link up with most major airlines.

Visas: Applications for visas should be lodged by September 2009. Normally a visa is required for entry into Australia and this is obtainable from the nearest Australian Embassy or High Commission. But certain nationals can obtain e-visas online or through their travel agencies. For further information, please see the Australian Government Immigration website.
