AUSTRALIAN
CLOUD SEEDING RESEARCH SYMPOSIUM

 
The Bureau of Meteorology Research Centre (BMRC) is coordinating a CLOUD SEEDING RESEARCH SYMPOSIUM from 7 - 9 May, 2007.

This symposium will be held at the Bureau of Meteorology Building, 700 Collins St, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia - in the 6th floor Conference Rooms 1, 2, and 3.

Sponsors of the Symposium are Snowy Hydro Ltd, Hydro Tasmania, Sydney Catchment Authority, Department of Sustainability and Environment (Victoria), CSIRO, and the Bureau of Meteorology.

A number of prominent national and international scientists and experts have been invited to make presentations.

 

Scope and objectives of Symposium:

This is a forum for the presentation of talks and discussion on:

  • the achievements of cloud seeding
  • the scientific basis and verification
  • current and future plans for cloud seeding in Australia
  • developing a framework (scientific and technical) for a co-ordinated national approach

Invited presenters will include:

The Symposium is suitable for people working in research from the following areas:

  • State Water Authorities
  • National Water Authorities
  • Local Government
  • Representatives of Land and Water use
  • Researchers in - hydrology/cloud physics, atmospheric and meteorological science
