WORKSHOP ON UNDERSTANDING THE CLIMATE OF AUSTRALIA AND THE INDO-PACIFIC REGION

14-16 November 2001

at the Bureau of Meteorology, Melbourne, Australia

The 2001 BMRC Modelling Workshop: Understanding the climate of Australia and the Indo-Pacific region, the thirteenth in the annual BMRC series, will be held from Wednesday 14 to Friday 16 November 2001, in the fifth floor conference suite, 150 Lonsdale St., Melbourne.

Keynote and other invited speakers will outline current research issues and understandings, using the various models as a basis. The primary aim of the meeting will be to address areas of research crucial to furthering our knowledge of the climate of the Australian continent as well as the broader Indo-Pacific region.

Papers will be presented on the following two themes:

The emphasis will be on studies using numerical simulation models; however, some papers will outline observational and theoretical techniques.
