The Bureau of Meteorology Research Centre (BMRC) will hold its 15th annual Modelling Workshop from 13 to 16 October 2003. This year's workshop, exploring the theme Current Issues in the Parameterization of Convection, will be conducted in the 5th floor conference facilities in the Bureau's Head Office in Melbourne.

A number of prominent scientists from overseas, as well as the Bureau, CSIRO, and Australian universities, have been invited to give presentations on four main themes:

Real-time forecasting of convection
Keynote speaker: Roger Deslandes (BMTC)

Parameterization of convection
Keynote speakers: Martin Miller (ECMWF) and David Randall (CSU)

Observations of convection and model development
Keynote speaker: Alan Betts (Atmospheric Research Inc.)
