Past, Present and Future of Numerical Modelling
The Bureau of Meteorology Research Centre (BMRC) will hold its
16th annual Modelling Workshop from 6 to 9 December 2004. This year's workshop,
exploring the theme Past, Present and Future of Numerical Modelling, will
be conducted in the Bureau's new Head Office, 700 Collins Street,
Melbourne.
A number of prominent scientists from overseas, as well as the
Bureau, CSIRO, and Australian universities, have been invited to give
presentations on modelling the atmosphere and ocean for research and operational
purposes. The presentations will be divided along the themes of:
The past
Keynote speakers: Bill Bourke (BMRC), Warren Washington (NCAR) and Gerbrand Komen (KNMI)
The present
Keynote speaker: TN Krishnamurti (FSU)
The future
Keynote speakers: Graeme Kelly (ECMWF), Kamal Puri (BMRC) and Adrian Simmons (ECMWF)
