from the GASP model for which the date of the most recent data is

In this way we are assured of having the most up-to-date data (GASP), yet also as
much data as possible from the Reanalysis (which has a better defined climatology).
Anomalies are created using the NCEP Reanalysis from 1979 to 2001 as the climatology.
The Reanalysis data is obtained from the NOAA-CIRES Climate Diagnostics Center.
