A Contiguous Rain Area (CRA) is defined as a contiguous area of rain in the analysis and/or forecast, i.e., the union of the two sets. If "Do CRAs" is selected RAINVAL automatically targets and produces verifications for up to four CRAs.
The user can also zoom into any desired portion of the domain. Use the centre mouse button to activate a "rubber-band box" for selecting an area in either the QPF or rainfall analysis portion of the verification map. When the centre mouse button is released RAINVAL opens a new window and performs a verification of the QPF within the selected area.
