2014 calendar theme: We've come a long way to serve you better

Supplementing the photographs, the calendar also provides insight into the fascinating world of weather. Each year the calendar provides useful climate information and includes a feature article on a meteorological theme. The theme for 2014 is 'We've come a long way to serve you better', describing the enormous changes in the Bureau that have resulted in dramatic improvements in the services we provide to the community.

Each month features

  • A photograph of weather in Australia, such as clouds, a thunderstorm, lightning, a rainbow, or a tornado.
  • Calendar squares (month-to-a-page), with space to record personal appointments and activities. The squares list Australian public holidays, moon phases, solstices, equinoxes, and Daylight Saving. Weeks start on a Monday, allowing weekend activities that stretch across Saturday and Sunday to be easily recorded.
  • A table of average weather conditions for each month for 12 major cities. The table includes information such as average maximum temperatures and average rainfall.
