BRANCH ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER  ( $64,411-$72,196 ) [1 position]

The Branch Administrative officer works directly to the Assistant Director Weather Services (ADS) and the duties cover a wide range of administrative functions, including high level Weather Services Program support and major project management support, estimates for financial and human resource allocation and ongoing development of performance indicators. The occupant of this position must have administrative ability of a very high order and a working knowledge of the Public Service Act, Public Service Regulations, relevant parts of the Financial Management and Accountability Act and the Personnel Delegations Manual.

TECHNICAL OFFICER LEVEL 3  ( $58,191-$62,849 ) [1 position]

The position is part of the NMOC’s operational team, providing technical expertise with respect to meteorological observational practices and systems as well as monitoring and scheduling the flow of operational numerical model and related suites.

TRAINEE TECHNICAL OFFICER (ELECTRONICS)  ( $39,210 - $43,464 ) [Several positions]
Level: Trainee APS Ref: electronic Status: Ongoing  

Successful applicants will undertake a one year specialised training course interspersed with on-the-job training. Periods of on-the-job training are spent in the Regional Maintenance Centre in the Region. Trainees attend a total of 30 weeks (spread over the one year training period) at the Bureau's Training Centre in Melbourne. This covers workshop practices, general meteorology and the installation, maintenance and operational theory of the Bureau's broad range of electronic systems, radar telemetry and communications equipment.
