Northern Aust Seasonal Temperature Outlook: probabilities for Summer 2008/2009, issued 26th November 2008 | |||||
Warmer than average summer favoured in the far northThe outlook for daytime temperatures averaged over summer (December to February) shows a moderate shift in the odds favouring warmer than normal conditions over some parts near the Gulf of Carpentaria. Overnight temperatures are likely to be higher than normal over northern parts of the Northern Territory and much of Queensland. The pattern of seasonal temperature odds across Australia is mostly a result of continued warmth in the central to southeastern Indian Ocean, especially off the west coast of WA.
