Data notes

The climate of Australia's capital cities and major centres is represented using statistics calculated for the period 1981–2010. Perth used the 1994–2021 period because earlier data were not available at this site. Where possible, the primary capital city site is used, but in some cases alternative, nearby sites were used due to insufficient data at the primary city site. For example, Melbourne Airport is used instead of the Melbourne Regional Office (or Olympic Park) site.
