Supply of Climate Data

The Australian climate computer archive holds data from:

  • some 18,000 rainfall sites (both open stations and old closed sites which are no longer reporting)
  • about 6500 rainfall sites which are 'open' and reporting
  • over 1500 sites with other climate data, such as temperatures at specific times of day, wind and weather
  • about 550 open sites reporting other climate data
  • more limited numbers of sites for sunshine, evaporation and maximum wind gust information

We can supply data in a number of ways, such as via FTP, email, CD/DVD-ROM and on floppy disc.

If you send a request to any of the contact addresses, please remember to include all the following information:

  • Your full name
  • Your organisation, if any
  • Your address
  • Your phone number and/or your fax number (so we may contact you to discuss your request)
  • Area,location of interest
  • Data required
  • Time period required
  • The type of information (eg montlhy rainfall) that you need

Without this information we may not be able to reply quickly or sometimes at all.
