For southwest WA and for Western Australia as a whole, June 2006 was the driest June since at least 1900 and also the coldest June since at least 1950 in terms of minimum temperature and mean temperature.

Some records set in June 2006 for individual locations in WA are tabulated below.

The previous WA June minimum temperature record of −5.7°C recorded at Wandering on 1 June 1964 was broken with −5.9°C at Eyre on 14 June 2006 and then again with −6.0 °C at Collie East on 17 June 2006.
