Thursday, 1 November 2007 - Monthly Climate Summary for Western Australia - Product code IDCKGC11R0
The statewide mean maximum temperature was 0.89°C above the long term (1961-1990) average. Large areas in WA experienced 1-2 °C warm anomalies though parts of the south and west coast saw cool anomalies.
The mean minimum temperature across the state was 0.47°C above the long term (1961-1990) average. Parts of the Pilbara, Gascoyne, Central West and a small area around Kalgoorlie registered warmer than normal overnight temperatures with 1-2 °C anomalies, whilst the remainder of WA experienced a close to mean minimum for October.
October 2007 was a close to normal month for rainfall in Western Australia as a whole. Areas of the Kimberley, northern Interior, Gascoyne and Goldfields received below to very much below average rainfall contrasting with above average rainfall in the South and Southeast Coastal districts as well as much of the Pilbara. Thus the mean across the state was near average.

This statement has been prepared based on information available at 10 am on Thursday 1 November 2007. Some checks have been made on the data, but it is possible that results will change as new information becomes available.
Normals
are long-term means based on observations from all available years of record,
which vary widely from site to site. They are not shown for sites with less than
30 years of record, as they cannot then be calculated reliably.
The median
is sometimes more representative than the mean
of "normal" rain.
