Climate monitoring, variability and extremes

The Bureau monitors and analyses extremes of weather and climate, providing both comprehensive and timely information about recent weather and a repository of homogenised climate data suitable for understanding how Australia's climate has varied over long periods.

Climate monitoring, variability and extremes

Extremes and records

Climate and weather extremes present tables, maps and graphs showing extremes of temperature and rainfall for both recent and historical observations. Find, for example, the highest temperature ever recorded in your State or the hottest location yesterday.

Climate change tracker

Climate change tracker uses homogenised datasets to monitor and analyse climate change and variability. You can explore timeseries graphs or trend maps for a range of variables and download quality controlled and homogenised climate data from the site network portal.
