No Drought Statement issued for October

Recent rainfall in southwestern Australia has provided some relief to long-term rainfall deficiencies in the area. Whilst there has not been enough rainfall to totally clear long-term deficiencies as reported in the previous Drought Statement, rainfall that has been received means that there are currently no short term deficiencies.

Whilst rainfall in southeastern Australia has generally been below average since the start of winter it has not been low enough to trigger any deficiency thresholds.
