  • RUDI - Resource for Urban Design Information, a UK based service.

  • From the Geography Department at the University of Bochum in Germany, you can download a three-dimensional numerical model, ENVI-met, which simulates micro-climates in urban areas. It's a useful planning tool which is easy to use and free.

  • The Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory's heat island study group site gives information about heat island development and impacts, plus practical tips aimed at reducing heat island intensity.

  • Urban Ecology is a San Fransisco based organisation aimed at "rebuilding our cities in balance with nature".
