Map of Temperate Zone (warm summer, cool winter) as a thumbnail image Temperate Zone (warm summer, cool winter)

As the name implies, most people find this climate acceptable at any time of year. Autumn and spring are the most comfortable seasons in most parts, with summer the best time on the south coast of the continent. The weather is more changeable than in the tropics; cool cloudy days alternate with warmth and sunshine. Rain falls occasionally but doesn’t usually last very long. Melbourne is an example of this climatic type.
