| Climatological summaries including means, extremes and
10th and 90th percentiles (where appropriate) have been calculated for
over 1600 sites around Australia including nearby islands and Antarctic
stations. Rainfall summaries for more than 10,000 sites are also included.

| The climatological summaries include those data
provided on the Bureau of Meteorology website, as well as a number of additional
statistics and sites. Annual and monthly
statistics are provided. Included since the last version are climate summaries
over the standard thirty year reference period 1961 - 1990 for 480 stations.
Rainfall summaries have also been added for more than 10,000 sites, most
of which only measure rainfall. |

| All climate sites have maximum
temperature and rainfall statistics, and most will have 9am and 3pm (dry
bulb) air temperature and relative humidity averages. Where these elements
have been measured, data about cloud cover, sunshine duration, wind speed,
maximum wind gust and evaporation are also provided. Notes
(pdf, 168kbyte) are provided. |

| Data are provided in various formats. Both the
climate summaries (full and thirty year) and rainfall summaries provide
the information as data files in a comma
separated format (pdf) suitable for importing into a spreadsheet. The
climate summaries are also provided in a pdf document, and text files similar
to the climate averages on this web site. |
