The Australian daily wind data DVD ROM contains:
- Daily wind data for approximately 1,740 stations from the start of recording until the latest available.
- Daily wind data includes:
- Mean daily wind speed, in units of km/h, calculated from all available 3 hourly wind speed observations. The number of observations used to estimate the mean speed for the day is also included.
A map of the stations. - Daily maximum wind gust data, consisting of gust speed in units of km/h, gust direction in units of degrees, and time of gust in 24 hour mode.
A map of the stations. - Daily wind run measured at a height of above 3m, and below 3m, in units of km.
A map of the stations.
- Mean daily wind speed, in units of km/h, calculated from all available 3 hourly wind speed observations. The number of observations used to estimate the mean speed for the day is also included.
- Additional information to help describe the process behind the wind observations, including details on observational instructions, and a brief section on technical notes and further references.

Format
Data is provided on DVD ROM, comprising files in the following formats:
- Daily wind data in comma separated ASCII text, some compressed in ZIP format, with 1 observation per record
- Brief notes for mean wind speed, maximum wind gust and wind run describing some properties of the data and the formats of the data, as a text file
- Station details for mean wind speed, maximum wind gust and wind run, as text files
