An information package has been prepared which provides climatological information about the route from Darwin to Adelaide used by the World Solar Challenge car race.
The climatological information includes monthly averages of elements such as temperature, rainfall, cloud cover, number of clear and cloudy days, daily sunshine duration, etc., for 6 sites. Not all elements are available for all sites.
Half hourly totals of global solar radiation are provided for the months of September and October for Darwin, Tennant Creek, Alice Springs and Adelaide Airport.
Selected other climate maps are provided, along with a brief description of the climate of the Northern Territory during the months of September and October. Also included is a comprehensive listing of the availability of Bureau of Meteorology climate and weather information via both the Web and Weather By Fax service.
