Climatic Atlas of Australia - Temperature CD ROM
|
|
Mean monthly and mean annual maximum and
minimum temperature maps. The maps show mean maximum and minimum temperature
values across Australia. The mean data are based on the standard 30-year
period 1961-1990. See LINEAGE below for more information.
|
The Temperature CD contains a range
of information including:
- high resolution mean monthly and mean annual maximum and minimum
temperature maps;
- mean monthly and mean annual gridded maximum and minimum temperature
data;
- a map viewer and data extraction tool.
The map viewer interface provided with the CD allows you to determine
the temperature values at any location across Australia. The CD also
includes explanatory text describing the data. |

Gridded data were generated using the ANU (Australian National University) 3-D Spline (surface fitting algorithm). As part of the 3-D analysis process a 0.025 degree resolution digital elevation model (DEM) was used. Approximately 700 stations were used in the temperature analyses. All input station data underwent a high degree of quality control before analysis, and conform to WMO (World Meteorological Organisation) standards for data quality. Map projection:geographic Australian National Spheriod Coordinates
expressed in decimal degrees. Datum:Australian Geodetic Datum (1966) AGD66 AGD66 is based on Australian National Spheriod
