Australian Maximum and Minimum Temperature Data

Daily maximum and minimum air temperature data have been compiled for all stations across Australia. For each station the corresponding data file contains daily maximum and minimum temperatures from the start of recording until the latest available (approximately the end of April 2007). Some stations do have gaps in the record.

The data for 1700 stations is held on one CD ROM, grouped according to the State of Australia in which the station is located. The amount of data is approximately 660 Mbyte. The commencement date of the stations varies, with the earliest records of temperature beginning in Melbourne in 1855. The mean length of record is approximately 20 years.
