Rainfall percentages

These percentage maps show how rainfall is distributed throughout the year - they allow you to compare monthly or seasonal rainfall with total annual rainfall. For example, they show that more than half the rainfall in the 'top end' occurs in the middle of the northern Australian wet season around the summer time (December to January). In comparison, much of the rainfall in far southwest Australia is associated with cold fronts, which are more frequent during the winter time (June to August).
