Introduction
Thunderstorm confirmations are provided for major population centres in New
South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, Western Australia and the Northern Territory. Strong wind confirmations are
provided for major population centres in New South Wales and Victoria.
This confirmation service is only available to Registered Users. To register for this product, clients must first sign an access agreement with the Bureau. A sample of the access agreement is available in PDF format. A subscription order form should also be completed.
Two copies of the completed, signed access agreements should be sent by post to:

For this service, there is an initial setup fee of $282.00 and an on-going annual fee of $2938.00 which includes product and system maintenance (costs inclusive of GST).

This confirmation service is only accessible by Registered Users. For the general public and occasional users, a similar fee-for-service facility (from $65.00 per request, GST incl.) is available by contacting the Bureau. About this service
The Bureau is currently developing a nation-wide automated thunderstorm/lightning/strong wind verification system. As an interim measure, this page has been initiated, as a fore-runner to the final service, to deliver the manually-produced storm confirmations currently available for some of the major population centres in New South Wales, Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory.
Storm confirmation for areas, States and Territories not covered by this product are still available by contacting the relevant Bureau office in the State concerned. Please note that there will be a
charge for this service (Minimum fee $65). Until further advised, subscribers can avoid these additional charges by quoting their allocated Registered User name when requesting reports for areas beyond the coverage of this service. See the list above for contact details.
This registered user service is to be provided on a cost recovery basis and, following an initial, free introductory period, will be billed through subscription charging.
