Summary
After developing off coast of Sumatra on 3 December and moving to the southwest, a low reached cyclone intensity overnight from 5-6 December and recurved to the southeast. Emma intensified to category three intensity overnight from 6-7 December before suffering from increased northwest shear and weakening. The system crossed the Pilbara coast near Karratha late on 12 December as a tropical low. No damage is known to have occurred.
