Summary

A low developed to the east of the Cocos-Keeling Islands on 13 January in an active phase of the Madden-Julian Oscillation. The low moved to the southwest and developed into a tropical cyclone on 17 January before crossing 90oE into La Reunion's area of responsibility. Joshua had no impact on mainland Australia or the Cocos-Keeling Islands.

Tropical Cyclone Joshua was the second tropical cyclone in the Australian region for the 2020-2021 season.
