Summary
An Indian Ocean low that formed northeast of Cocos Islands tracked steadily to the southwest and reached cyclone intensity early on 19 December as it passed to the southeast of the Islands. Ken 's development was hampered by shear and it was eventually downgraded on 22 December west of 90°E.Although squally winds occurred at Cocos Island as Ken passed by, there was no known damage.
