Summary
An Indian Ocean low that formed northeast of Cocos Island on 6 April tracked to the southeast being influenced by monsoon Northwest flow. Cyclone intensity is estimated early on 10 April well to the south of Christmas Island. Monty's development was hampered by strong upper level northwesterly winds and weakening occurred on 12 April.
There was no known impact from this cyclone.
