Australia - New Zealand Climate Forum 2010
Southern Hemisphere Climate: features · findings · futures
13 to 15 October 2010 – Hobart
The logo for the Australia - New Zealand Climate Forum 2010 represents Earth as seen from space over Hobart.
It highlights the importance of the Southern Ocean and Antarctica to Australia and New Zealand. It differs from the commonly-used Mercator projections (that place great emphasis on the tropics), or a polar steroeographic projection (which can diminish the relationship between Antarctica and the middle latitudes).
This ties to the motto Southern Exposure, as a particular focus for the Australia - New Zealand Climate Forum 2010 will be on the role of Antarctica and the Southern Ocean in the climate of Australia and New Zealand.
The logo and masthead were designed by Lea Croswell at CSIRO.
Registration has closed, as the strictly limited places have all been taken.
