Hobart

Hobart is the capital of Tasmania, Australia's southernmost and smallest state.

No matter how many times you visit Hobart you can't help but revel in the waterfront city's real and accessible sense of maritime history, of science, of seafood, and the impressive mountain backdrop that helps shape the local climate.

Our conference venue overlooks arguably Australia's most attractive harbour setting. With just a few minutes' walk you can be wandering around the fishing fleet and pleasure boats tied up in Victoria and Constitution Dock, buying fresh scallops and oysters from local fishmongers, checking out the exhibitions at museums and art galleries, shopping, dining or wining in Salamanca Place or nearby Battery Point, or visiting colleagues at CSIRO and the Bureau of Meteorology.
