Presenting at ANZCF 2010 — a checklist
As a presenter, you need to check several things
well before
you get to the
Australia - New Zealand Climate Forum 2010:
Change of circumstances?
You need to
let us know if you:
- are no longer able to make your presentation
- have someone else presenting in your place
- want to make any other changes
Register
You
must register for the
Australia - New Zealand Climate Forum 2010
to be able to give your presentation.
If you need
accommodation in Hobart, we suggest that you make your bookings
now.
Check your abstract
Presenters have been sent an email pointing to a copy of their abstract.
The version on the web will be published in the conference handbook unless an amendment is provided.
Contact us if you are an author but have not received that email.
Check the program
A
provisional proposed program has been prepared,
including a version showing every presentation in its time slot.
Presenters should check that program carefully, and
let us know if there are any problems or issues with it.
Prepare your presentation
Length
- your presentation must run for no more than 15 minutes
- lightning lectures are no more than 5 minutes
- do not try to present more than can be covered in that time
- restrict yourself to 10 slides (3 in a lightning lecture)
- time limits will be strictly enforced to keep the sessions running smoothly
- there will be an additional 5 minutes for questions
Format
- acceptable file formats are PowerPoint and PDF
- contact us if you want to use a different format
- if your slide show is not in one of these formats, it will not be shown
- you will not be able to connect your own computer to the projectors
- the computers will have a connection to the internet
- if your slide show includes sound, you must let us know beforehand
- you do not have to give a slide show; we will provide a backdrop if needed
Content and delivery
It's not hard to make an interesting, informative and memorable presentation,
but it is worthwhile spending a little time on it.
There's a lot ideas on how to do this; here's a few links to check:
Bring your slide show with you
- there will be a single location at the forum venue to which all slide shows must be brought
- you will need to provide your slide show before the session in which you are presenting commences
- a good time to do this is in the break between sessions
- you will not be able to load your presentation onto the presentation computer yourself
- if you do not provide your slide show in advance, it will not be shown
Registration has closed,
as the strictly limited places have all been taken.
A provisional program is available
The forum starts on 13 October
