IDV10300 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Victoria Notes on the Weather for Victoria Issued at 1630 on Saturday the 21st of November 2009 Recent Events Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms accompanied a trough that moved through the state on Friday followed by some patchy rain areas overnight. Rainfall totals to 9am were generally less than 5mm with higher totals about the northeast ranges. Hunters Hill recorded 17mm, Falls Creek 14mm, Albury 11mm and Mallacoota 5mm. In the 6 hours to 3pm there were patchy rain areas across the state. Totals were mostly between 1 and 3mm with higher totals in the northeast. Beechworth recorded 10mm, Cheshunt 8mm, and Wilsons Prom 4mm. Overnight minimum temperatures were mostly 4 to 10 degrees above average and generally ranged between 14 and 20 degrees. Lowest in the state was 9 degrees at Mt Baw Baw. It was a cloudy and hazy day across the state with patchy rain areas, mainly across the north. Winds were generally light and tended moderate northerly across the central district in the afternoon. Maximum temperatures to 3pm were generally within 4 degrees of the November average and ranged between 17 and 26 degrees. Warmest in the state was 26 degrees at Hopetoun and Charlton. In Melbourne the temperature ranged from a minimum of 18.6 at 2.43am to a maximum of 25.8 at 4.19pm. The city raingauge recorded 1mm in the 24 hours to 9am. Some patchy rain fell in some suburbs in the 6 hours to 3pm with Avalon recording 1mm, however no rainfall was recorded in city. Explanatory Notes
