IDV10300 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Victoria Notes on the Weather for Victoria Issued at 1630 on Saturday the 11th of October 2008 Recent Events There was no rain in the 24 hours to 9am or in the 6 hours to 3pm. Overnight minimum temperatures were 1 to 6 degrees below average in most centres and fell to a lowest of zero at Rutherglen, Omeo and Mt Hotham. Minima mainly ranged between 3 and 10 degrees. Maximum temperatures were 4 to 9 degrees above average and rose to a highest of 29 degrees at Hopetoun, Mildura, Ouyen, Swan Hill, Walpeup, Warracknabeal and Kerang. Maxima mainly ranged between 23 and 28 degrees except right near the coast where seabreezes kept temperatures close to average and close to 20 degrees. Light northeast to northerly wind gave way to seabreezes. There were morning fog patches in the east and seafog patches in eastern Bass Strait. Otherwise the sky was largely clear with only a few convective buildups, mainly about the eastern ranges. In Melbourne the temperature ranged from 9.7 degrees at 6.25am to 27.9 degrees at 3.36pm. Explanatory Notes A cold front south of Western Australia will continue moving eastwards, crossing Victoria during Sunday night and Monday morning. A second cold front will move through Tasmania Tuesday night. A high pressure system will develop over the Bight during Tuesday and move to south of South Australia on Wednesday.
