The Bureau of Meteorology produces an extensive range of publications.

Counter sales

Purchases can be made over the counter at the Bureau's Publication Subsection located on 6th floor (northside), 700 Collins Street, Docklands.

Australian Weather Calendar

The weather calendar is produced each year by the Bureau of Meteorology and the Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society. The not-for-profit publication was first printed in 1985 and is now sold in November and December each year.

The calendar is sold over-the-counter at selected bureau offices and by mail-order, including online sales.

Climate of Australia

Climate of Australia provides a comprehensive description of Australia's climate since widespread instrumental records began early in the 20th century. It provides information about typical and extreme weather conditions across the country. It is divided into four sections.

Monthly Weather Review

The Bureau produces a Monthly Weather Review each month for each state and the Northern Territory containing a range of information on climate statistics and significant weather. Issues from (date) are available online.

Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Journal

The Bureau publishes the Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Journal, the principal scientific journal in Australia for the atmospheric and oceanographic sciences, in conjunction with the Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society. All issues since 1952 are now available online.

Whole of Government Publications Online Service:
The only whole-of-government service currently in operation regarding publications is <http://publications.gov.au>, which acts as a search engine for publications information on department and agency websites.

A complete listing of Bureau publications is also available online as a Portable Document File (PDF). Clicking on the (PDF) icon below will allow you to select and download an electronic version of the catalogue in a PDF format. Clicking on the (REQ) icon will allow you to request that a paper copy of the catalogue be mailed to you. When composing your request, please include your full postal address.
