Comments: In March 2005, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) advised that Kanlaon was emitting a series of phreatic explosions. Most of the explosions were not detectable on satellite imagery, but this 250 m resolution Terra/MODIS image shows a plume drifting southwest from the volcano and over the Sulu Sea.
