Non-Salary Benefits

  • Flexible working arrangements, including flextime, part time and home-based work;

Australian Workplace Agreements (AWAs)

There are 14 approved AWAs for SES employees and a further 5 for Executive Level 2 employees occupying very senior managerial positions.

The salary range available for employees on AWAs is from $100,954 to $169,175.

Employees on AWAs also have access to performance pay bonuses. SES AWAs generally provide non-salary benefits of an executive vehicle, business equipment (home computing facilities and mobile telephone), and an option to cash out recreation leave and airline club membership. Non-SES AWAs include the terms and conditions of the Bureau's Certified Agreement 2004-05.

PERFORMANCE BASED PAY

The Bureau of Meteorology has 18 staff eligible to receive performance based pay. Payments of Performance Based Pay made in the 2003-04 Financial Year relate to the 2002-03 financial year. Performance Based Pay in 2003-04 had not been determined at the close of the financial year and this item was not included as reported remuneration in the preparation of the 2003-04 Financial Statements.
