Chapter 5 Climate Research

Conclusions

Australian scientists continue to make significant contributions to international climate science. The increasing scope of climate science is apparent from the enhanced collaboration between WCRP and its partners, IGBP and IHDP, in the Earth System Science Partnership. While there is an increasing interest in climate change activities, the nature of Australian climate demands a continuing focus on the natural variability of climate and its predictability.
