Chapter 7 Australian Participation in the IPCCC

Australian Input to IPCCC Assessments > Special Report on Methodological and Technical Issues in Technology Transfer

The Special Report on Methodological and Technological Issues in Technology Transfer was also finalised at the fifth session of Working Group III in Kathmandu in March 2000. The report identifies, describes and assesses potential effectiveness of options to accelerate the development and diffusion of technology for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and adapting to climate change through various mechanisms, including technology co-operation. The report assesses the current environment for technology transfer, including a discussion of the current flows of technology and the enabling factors affecting these flows. Options for accelerating those flows are discussed on a sector-by-sector basis.

Australian scientists contributed to the following chapters:

  • Forestry Sector: N Byron (contributor); and
  • Solid waste and wastewater management: T Beer, T Wainberg (lead authors)
