The Bureau Logo

Bureau logo or Bureau logo

The Bureau of Meteorology's new logo - introduced June 2003 - resulted from a Government direction that was designed to provide common branding of all Australian Government Departments and Agencies.

There are two allowable designs - either the 'stacked' (vertical) or 'in line' (horizontal), as shown above.

The background and reasoning for - what is known as - the Australian Government Branding is at the Australian Government Information Management Office site.

These are fairly strict guidelines on how the new logo can be used. Further assistance can be obtained from the Bureau's Publications Unit via publications@bom.gov.au

The former 'swirl' logo is no longer used by the Bureau, though it is still a registered trade mark and owned by the Bureau.
