State of the Climate (PDF, 994Kb)

The State of the Climate was published by the Bureau of Meteorology and CSIRO on Monday 15 March 2010. This snapshot of Australia's climate shows the country has experienced more extremely hot days, fewer cold ones, wetter conditions in the north, and drier times in the south.

Australian Weather Calendar

The Australian Weather Calendar is produced each year by the Bureau of Meteorology and the Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society. The not-for-profit publication is sold in November and December each year, over-the-counter at selected bureau offices and by mail-order, including online sales.

Climate of Australia

Climate of Australia is a comprehensive description of Australia's climate since widespread instrumental records began early in the 20th century. It provides information about typical and extreme weather conditions across the country, and is divided into four sections.

Monthly Weather Review

The Monthly Weather Review is published each month for each state and the Northern Territory. It contains climate statistics and information on significant weather events. Issues from Frebruary 2009 are available online as pdf documents.


Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Journal

The Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Journal is published by the bureau in conjunction with the Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society. It is the principal scientific journal in Australia for the atmospheric and oceanographic sciences. All issues since 1952 are available online.


Weather News

Weather News is the in-house journal of the Bureau of Meteorology and is available free to former employees and agencies with a Bureau affiliation. Available via user ID/password only.
