Cocos (Keeling) Islands Forecast

Weather Situation:
A tropical low that may develop into a cyclone is forecast to bring heavy
rainfall and possible gales winds to the islands tonight and into Monday
morning. There is a small chance that gales with gusts to 90km/h may develop
about the islands tonight and into Monday. These gales are expected to ease on
Monday afternoon. Heavy rainfall will gradually ease throughout Monday.

Cyclone Warning Centre.
Cloudy. Very windy, possibly reaching gale strength. Very high chance of
showers. The chance of a thunderstorm and heavy falls.
Winds: W/NW 15 to 20 knots, increasing 25/30 knots overnight then shifting S/SW in the
late evening, possibly reaching gale strength.
Seas: 1.5 to 2.5 metres or more.
Swell 1: N/NW 2.0 to 2.5 metres.
Swell 2: SW/SE 1 to 1.5 metres.

Very windy, possibly reaching gale strength. Very high chance of showers. The
chance of a thunderstorm and heavy falls easing in the afternoon.
Winds: SE 20 to 25 knots or more, shifting SW in the afternoon and easing to 15 to 20
knots in the evening.
Seas: 2.0 to 2.5 metres or more.
Swell 1: NW 1.0 to 2.5 metres.
Swell 2: S/SW 1.0 to 1.5 metres.
