Coastal Waters Forecast for South Australia

Weather Situation

A weakening high pressure system centred off the Lower South East coast will move eastwards overnight allowing a trough of low pressure to move over the State on Sunday and the far northeast on Monday. Another high pressure system will develop south of the Bight early next week, then quickly moving to the southern Tasman Sea by Wednesday night.

Far West Coast: WA-SA Border to Fowlers Bay

Forecast for Saturday 29 February until midnight

Winds: Southeasterly 10 to 15 knots. Local inshore sea breezes reaching 15 to 20 knots late afternoon and early evening. Seas: Around 1 metre. Swell: South to southwesterly 2 to 2.5 metres. Weather: Mostly clear. The chance of a thunderstorm offshore late this evening.

Strong Wind Warning for Sunday for Far West Coast

Winds: East to northeasterly 10 to 15 knots shifting southeasterly 15 to 25 knots during the morning reaching 20 to 30 knots from late afternoon. Seas: Around 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 2 metres later in the evening. Swell: South to southwesterly 2 metres. Weather: Cloudy. 60% chance of showers.
