GALE WARNING FOR SOUTHERN, SOUTHEASTERN AND WESTERN AREAS

PLEASE BE AWARE
Wind and wave forecasts are averages. Wind gusts can be 40 per cent stronger
than the forecast, and stronger still in squalls and thunderstorms. Maximum
waves can be twice the forecast height.

SITUATION AT 0000UTC
Vigorous flow associated with a complex low pressure system. Main low 972hPa
near 45S113E at 280000UTC. Forecast 975hPa near 46S118E at 280600UTC, 974hPa
near 48S125E at 281200UTC, 975hPa near 50S132E at 281800UTC and 971hPa near
53S138E
at 290000UTC.

AREA AFFECTED
Bounded by 52S135E 55S140E 54S149E 47S146E 36S116E 39S104E 45S103E 51S135E.

FORECAST
Clockwise winds 30/ 40 knots within 540nm of complex low in the sector from
south through west to southeast. Wind speeds increasing to 35/47 knots within
90nm of low in the northern semicircle. Rough to very rough seas rising to high
near northern semicircle of low. Heavy swell.
