GALE WARNING FOR WESTERN AND SOUTHERN AREAS

PLEASE BE AWARE
Wind and wave forecasts are averages. Wind gusts can be 40 per cent stronger
than the forecast, and stronger still in squalls and thunderstorms. Maximum
waves can be twice the forecast height.

SITUATION AT 1800UTC
Vigorous flow associated with a low 960hPa near 60S100E. Forecast 960hPa near
61S106E at 040000UTC, 961hPa near 62S114E at 040600UTC, 965hPa near 63S121E at
041200UTC, and 968hPa near 64S130E at 041800UTC.

AREA AFFECTED
Bounded by 49S091E 47S108E 56S140E 63S134E 61S084E 49S091E.

FORECAST
Westerly winds 30/40 knots within 660nm of low in the northern semicircle,
tending clockwise within 360nm of low until 040600UTC. Rough to very rough
seas. Heavy swell.
