Radar Coverage

The map is based on the radar coverage at 10,000ft (3048m) above Mean Sea Level. The lowest elevation beam will extend to greater distance at higher levels, so coverage at 15,000' would be greater. Most sites are restricted due to hills or mountains on the horizon and local trees or towers. The horizontal range is less at elevated sites because the radar is closer to 10,000' above MSL.
