at Wellington Bridge and Warren

MAJOR FLOODING CONTINUES AT WARREN

MINOR FLOODING CONTINUES AT WELLINGTON BRIDGE

Major flooding continues along the Macquarie River at Warren. River levels are falling slowly and will likely fall below the major flood level (9.00 metres) from Friday into this coming weekend.

Minor flooding continues at Wellington Bridge.

River levels at Narromine have likely fallen below the minor flood level (5.50 metres).

The Macquarie River at Dubbo is expected to remain below the minor flood level (5.50 metres).

Rainfall is forecast across New South Wales during Thursday and Friday and this rainfall may cause renewed flooding along the Macquarie River. The situation is being closely monitored and revised predictions will be provided if necessary.

Macquarie River downstream of Burrendong Dam:

Major flooding is occurring along the Macquarie River at Warren Town. Minor flooding is occurring at Wellington Bridge.

The Macquarie River at Wellington Bridge is currently at 4.62 metres and steady, with minor flooding.

The Macquarie River at Narromine has likely fallen below the minor flood level (5.50 metres).

The Macquarie River at Warren Town peaked at 9.45 metres around 05:00 pm Sunday 5 December with Major flooding. The river level is currently at 9.22 metres and falling slowly, with major flooding.

Flood Safety Advice:

In life threatening emergencies, call 000 (triple zero) immediately. If you require rescue, assistance to evacuate or other emergency help, ring NSW SES on 132 500.

  • * Avoid drowning. Stay out of rising water, seek refuge in the highest available place.
  • * Prevent damage to your vehicle. Move it under cover, away from areas likely to flood.
  • * Avoid being swept away. Stay out of fast-flowing creeks and storm drains.
  • * Never drive, ride or walk through flood water. Flood water can be deceptive and dangerous.
