Minor to Moderate Flood Warning for the Warrego River (NSW)

at Barringun, Enngonia, and Fords Bridge Bywash

MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT BARRINGUN OVERNIGHT MONDAY, WITH A PEAK LIKELY DURING THURSDAY

Along the Warrego River, upstream floodwaters from Queensland are arriving in New South Wales. A major flood warning is current for the Warrego River in Queensland, where a major flood peak was observed at Rocky on Sunday morning.

Moderate flooding is possible overnight Monday at Barringun, with a moderate flood peak likely during Thursday.

Further downstream, minor flooding may develop at Enngonia towards the end of this week, and minor flooding may develop at Fords Bridge Bywash during the weekend.

Peak predictions will be provided as upstream peaks are observed.

Warrego River (NSW):

Moderate flooding is possible along the Warrego River (NSW) at Barringun. Minor flooding is possible at Enngonia and Fords Bridge Bywash.

The Warrego River at Barringun No. 2 gauge is currently at 2.84 metres and rising slowly above the minor flood level (2.80 metres). The Warrego River at Barringun No. 2 gauge may exceed the moderate flood level (3.80 metres) overnight Monday into Tuesday and may peak around 4.20 metres during Thursday, with moderate flooding.

The Warrego River at Enngonia may reach the minor flood level (2.00 metres) towards the end of the week. Further rises are possible as upstream floodwaters arrive.

The Warrego River at Fords Bridge Bywash may reach the minor flood level (1.70 metres) this weekend. Further rises are possible as upstream floodwaters arrive.

  • * Avoid drowning. Stay out of rising water, seek refuge in the highest available place.
  • * Prevent damage to your vehicle. Move it under cover, away from areas likely to flood.
  • * Avoid being swept away. Stay out of fast-flowing creeks and storm drains.
  • * Never drive, ride or walk through flood water. Flood water can be deceptive and dangerous.
