Minor Flood Warning for the Warrego River (NSW)

at Fords Bridge Bywash

Issued at 10:49 am EST on Friday 20 May 2022

Flood Warning Number: 4

MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT FORDS BRIDGE BYWASH FROM THIS WEEKEND

A flood peak was observed at Barringun on Monday 16 May, below the minor flood level. This peak is passing through Enngonia and is approaching Fords Bridge.

Local rainfall in the area of Fords Bridge last week has caused elevated river levels at Fords Bridge, which are currently steady and just below the minor flood level. This local rainfall combined with the upstream peak at Enngonia may cause minor flooding along the Warrego River at Fords Bridge Bywash from this weekend into early next week.

A second flood peak on the Warrego River is approaching Wyandra in Queensland. This flood peak is expected to move through into NSW next week and may result in further renewed rises. Peak height predictions for this flood peak will be made after upstream peaks in Queensland are observed.

Warrego River (NSW):

Minor flooding may occur along the Warrego River (NSW).

The Warrego River at Fords Bridge Bywash may reach the minor flood level (1.70 m) over the weekend. Further rises are possible.
