Moderate Flood Warning for the Tuggerah Lake

at Long Jetty

MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING AT LONG JETTY

Moderate to heavy rainfall has been observed across the Wyong River and Tuggerah Lake catchment since last Sunday, which has resulted in lake level rises.The lake levels peaked during Saturday morning and moderate flooding is occurring at Long Jetty.

Rainfall has eased and no widespread significant rainfall is forecast for the next few days.

Tuggerah Lake:

Moderate flooding is occurring along the Tuggerah Lake.

The Tuggerah Lake at Long Jetty peaked at 1.37 metres around 01:00 am Saturday 24 May and is currently at 1.32 metres and steady, just above the moderate flood level. The Tuggerah Lake at Long Jetty is expected to fall below the moderate flood level (1.30 m) Saturday afternoon. The lake level is likely to remain above minor flood level (0.90 m) from Saturday afternoon into Sunday.

  • * Prevent damage to your vehicle. Move it under cover, away from areas likely to flood.
  • * Avoid being swept away. Stay out of fast-flowing creeks and storm drains.
  • * Never drive, ride or walk through flood water. Flood water can be deceptive and dangerous.
