Severe Weather Warning
for damaging winds
for people in the Metropolitan, Hunter, Illawarra and South Coast forecast districts

GALE FORCE SOUTHERLY CHANGE ALONG THE COASTAL FRINGE.
A vigorous southerly change currently near Wollongong is expected to reach central parts of the coast around dawn. Gale force southerly winds are likely along the coastal fringe between about Narooma and The Entrance for a brief period with the change.
DAMAGING WINDS averaging 55 to 65 km/h with peak gusts of 90 km/h are likely for the coastal fringe of the Metropolitan, Hunter (particularly the Central coast), Illawarra and South Coast forecast districts early this morning.
Kiama Automatic Weather Station recorded a wind of SSW 69 gusting 89 km/h at 4am.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
- Move vehicles under cover or away from trees.
- Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.
- Keep clear of fallen power lines.

The next warning will be issued by 11:00 am EDT Wednesday.
