Severe Weather Warning
for people in the Snowy Mountains forecast district

Weather Situation

Gale-force northwesterly winds about Alpine peaks have eased.

The Severe Weather Warning for the Snowy Mountains forecast district has been cancelled.

Winds averaging 90km/h at times with gusts to about 125 km/h were recorded at Thredbo top station early this afternoon.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:

  • Keep clear of fallen power lines.
  • Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water.
  • Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
  • Beware of fallen trees or debris on the road.

No further warnings will be issued for this event.
